Grocery Shopping Tours

Grocery shopping tour

A Grocery Shopping Tour is a guided excursion to a near-by grocery store that can make it easier for patients to choose healthful foods at the point of sale. Patients will learn things like:

  • how to make shopping trips more efficient
  • how to decipher confusing nutrition labels and health claims
  • how to identify staple ingredients for stocking a healthy pantry
  • how to properly select and store produce, meat, fish, dairy, grains, beans, oils, and more

Patients with special dietary needs can also benefit from the following specialized tours:

  • how to follow a gluten-free diet (or a diet free of other food sensitivities)
  • how to follow a heart healthy, low sodium, low cholesterol diet
  • how to shop for low glycemic foods for better blood sugar balance
  • as well as specific topics of your choice

Tours are offered in group settings or one-one-one by appointment. Call our 913.588.6208 to inquire about making an appointment.
