Phone Consults for Oncology Patients*

Phone consults are available to patients outside the Kansas City region. 

  • Prior to the call, request vitamin C infusion information packet to ensure you are well-informed and phone time is efficiently used.
    • Packet contains 20-page questionnaire to be completed and returned along with:
      • Physician notes - history and physical (H&P) explaining course of disease and treatment, and recommendation
      • Procedure notes
      • Imaging reports
      • Pathology reports
  • Person who will be treated must be present on the phone call.

  • Sole purpose of phone consult is to answer any remaining questions about the vitamin C therapy and how it pertains to your diagnosis.

  • We will not discuss medical information regarding a friend or relative without that person being involved in the discussion.

    The protocol for intravenous vitamin C infusion will only be released to a medical professional who requests this information and submits the request on professional letterhead.  The request should be faxed to Becky Sheppard at 913-588-0012.

  • The protocol is standard for most types of cancer.

  • It is not mandatory to have the phone consult before your medical professional receives the protocol.  Medical professionals can request a separate conversation with one of our doctors if needed.

  • Cost for phone consult is $100.00 for 30-minute consult.

  • We do not accept medical insurance, including Medicare or Medicaid.

  • Payment must be made prior to the call
    • Credit card number and expiration date, or
    • Check for $100.00 made payable to Kansas University Physicians, Inc. (KUPI).

*Please be aware that if you have a phone consult one of our doctors that this does not indicate you are under their care. These phone consults are set up to answer any additional questions that the patient may still have after reading through the information packet.

Phone consults are available to patients in the Kansas City region only after an initial consult and follow-up visit.
